The Pain

All the things you've said and done,
As the years have passed along.
You act like you're the only one,
Hurt by things done wrong.

But that's not true,
I'll tell you why.
I've been hurt by you,
Honest, I won't lie.

Sometimes you're a hypocrite,
Acting all alone.
While over here I sit,
Waiting by the phone.

You say one thing,
But seem to mean another.
All the while my phone won't ring,
Raising questions from my mother.

How many times you've made me cry,
I truly have no clue.
So, Dear, tell me why,
I haven't heard from you.

If it is time alone,
That has served you oh so well.
Why do you gripe and groan,
But never want to tell.

Without me,
You can cope.
But honey, see,
Without you I lose hope.
